MODERN COLLECTION Nowadays the collection consists of approximately 70000 volumes, which is entirely catalogued. Documents obtained before 1986 are listed in a traditional paper-card catalogue, meanwhile those acquired later can be searched in our online catalogue as well. The books in the reading room are located on open shelves, according to a continuously developed special classification system. However books with many copies can be found in the stack room, so one has to turn to the librarian to obtain them. The categories of the classification system are labeled on the shelves, too, making orientation easier. The library collects both Hungarian and foreign veterinary literature, with all the related fields like animal breeding, zoology and so on. Besides, lecture notes, tutorials and other teaching materials are also collected. Magyar ÁllatOrvosi Bibliográfia (Hungarian Veterinary Bibliography) The library has created a sub site for the Hungarian Veterinary Bibliography, which contains bibliographic data on all the articles of Hungarian veterinarians since 1990.
